Cyclist in a critical condition after a collision with a truck in Trafford Park

A 27-year old male cyclist is fighting for his life after colliding with a truck in Trafford Park this afternoon (Friday 12 June 2020) at around 2pm.

The incident happened on Wheel Forge Way in Trafford Park.

Police have said the driver of the truck stayed at the scene and no arrests have been made.

Detective Constable Emma Kennedy, of GMP’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “We’re very much thinking of the injured cyclist and his family as he receives treatment in hospital and hope that he makes a full recovery.

“We are working hard to piece together the circumstances surrounding this collision and have carried out a number of enquiries including capturing witness statements and analysing CCTV footage but we’re still keen to hear from any witnesses or anyone with any information or dash-cam footage.

“Please get in touch with police if you have any information that could assist us with our investigation.”
