Dame Diana Rigg as Emma Peel in the Avengers

Dame Diana Rigg starred alongside George Lazenby in the James Bond film ‘On her majesty’s secret service’ as Tracy Bond, she also will be remembered for her role as Emma Peel in the ‘Avengers’.

In 1983 she starred alongside Laurence Olivier in a Granada TV production ‘King lear’ Diana won a Bafta award in 1990 for Best TV Actress.

Dame Diana also starred in The Game of Thrones which helped her gain two nominations as ‘Guest Actress in a drama series’ in 2013 and 2014.

The UK born actress was nominated many times and won many awards in her life she was honoured in 1988 and gained a CBE, then in 1994 she was awarded a DBE (Dame Commander of the order of the British Empire)

Dame Diana had cancer and died today at her home in London aged 82.
