Police and Trafford Council have told people via social media platforms to not be moving road closure signage and driving through flood waters on the Mile Road in Flixton.

Although the water at that part of the River Mersey is now reducing the water around that area including in Stretford is still high and will take some time to reduce.

Some people took the risk going through the flood water and got stuck! you are asked to use some common sense and divert for your own safety.

Some of our big parks are more like lakes right now, we have seen images from Cross Lane Park in Partington and Longford Park in Stretford, other areas around Little Bollington are also affected.

The weather is better however at the weekend and beyond low pressure remains and more rain or snow could fall, we will keep everyone up to date on our weather page.
