Competitive rugby returns soon at Trafford MV

Trafford MV Sports Club based in Sale have returned to training at all age levels and will be looking to get some friendly games organised before competitive League games take place.

MV’s Cricket teams open their league season this weekend with 1st XI at home to Malpas 1st XI. The 2nd XI playing away vs North East Cheshire 2nd XI and on Sunday 18th MV’s 3rd XI are playing at home to Woodley 3rd XI which is a T20 cup match. Junior cricket at the Club will begin on Wed April 21st.

On the Rugby front things have clicked back into place smoothly with adult men’s and women’s training on Tuesday and Thursday evening being well attended with around 40 players at each groups sessions. Mini/Junior and Youth Rugby takes over on Sunday mornings with staggered sessions for the various age groups ranging from 3 to 17 years of age  – a hugely impressive sight when the fields of MacPherson Park are thriving with young sports people.

Fixtures for next season have been announced and Trafford MV will be entering into their league season on Sept 11th as follows 1XV are away to New Brighton, 2XV are at home to West Park SH 2XV and 3XV are away to Broughton 2XV – friendly fixtures will be arranged and announced as we go along and Covid restrictions permit.

There are various other activities running from Trafford MV Sports Club with a Saturday morning running group, Touch Rugby groups, Walking Rugby for over 50’s, Vets Rugby for over 35’s , Trafford Community Fitness Bootcamp, Manchester Tigers Softball and St Brendans Gaelic Football – activity for a whole range of ages and commitments.
