Big events this weekend here in Manchester will cause huge traffic congestion issues

This weekend will see some huge events taking place and this is your guide to knowing what is on and how to get to your destination safely.

Manchester United play at home against Newcastle on Saturday, this game will not be shown live on any UK channel, over 75,000 fans will be in attendance to see Cristiano Ronaldo’s first game back as a red, the roads around Old Trafford and the motorway network will be more busier than normal.

If coming from Manchester City Centre you can take the Metrolink or come by bus, many buses go to Old Trafford from Manchester City Centre, your best one would be the 263 as it is more frequent than all the others.

On the same day and on Sunday ‘Parklife’returns to Heaton Park and also a big cricket match is being played at Emirates Old Trafford which starts on Friday.

It is expected due to the amount of people on the roads for all these events taking place you will face delays, even on the Metrolink network you will face some delays, make plans now to avoid the congestion issues.
