Schools, charities and local organisations across Trafford are being encouraged to apply for a slice of £20,000 grant funding from Trafford Housing Trust for food projects over the coming winter school holidays.
Eligible groups can apply for the funding through the Trust’s Active Appetites program, which provides much-needed lunches, hot meals, food hampers and vouchers throughout the year, and has so far awarded grants in excess of £220,000 to local community groups across nearly 50 different projects.
Applications are now open and close on 25 October.
Larry Gold, CEO of Trafford Housing Trust, said: “The last 20 months have been incredibly challenging for all of us, but the challenges have been far greater for those struggling to feed their families.
“The Active Appetites program provides a vital lifeline for families across Trafford, and during the winter school holidays will provide some relief at this often difficult time of year.”
