E-Fit of man who tried to abduct a child in Sale

Greater Manchester Police have issued an e-fit of a man who tried to abduct a school girl in Sale.

Yesterday (October 4) a girl from Firs Primary School was walking home at around 4.35pm when a man approached her and tried to abduct her, she escaped due a man and woman who helped her to escape.

The man made off in a white van that is described as being a new type of vehicle with sliding doors and possible a logo on the side.

He escaped and was seen going down Manor Avenue towards Coppice Avenue.

Police have increased patrols in the area.

Detective Inspector Helen Bagnall of GMP’s Trafford division: “This was an incredibly concerning and terrifying ordeal for the young girl and we have been working around the clock to establish the full circumstances of the incident to ensure we identify the man responsible.

“We’re currently releasing this e-fit image in the hope that someone may recognise the man and can assist us with our enquiries. If you do recognise this male please get in touch with us as a matter of urgency.

“We are still looking to speak to the couple that intervened and helped the young girl following the incident and we urge you to get in touch with us as soon as possible.

“We’re also appealing to anyone with any information about the incident – including those with dash-cam or CCTV footage of the white van – to contact us on 0161 856 7673 quoting incident number 2224 of 04/11/2021.”
