Ole in happier times: Pic Darren Marsden

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is sacked as the manager of Manchester United after a five hour emergency board meeting in which the owners agreed that the club needed to look in a new direction.

Official statement by Manchester United confirms Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is no longer the manager,

Journalist Fabrizio Romano broke the news of Ole’s sacking on Twitter, at this time United are working on compensation with the manager which will see Ole walk off with a claimed £6.5m we think it will be nearer £7m.

Michael Carrick will take charge until a new manager is found which could be Zidane or even Brendan Rodgers, however its too soon to know who Manchester United will hire.

Ole we feel like Mourinho was thrown under a bus by the players and it will happen again with the new manager unless the playing personnel is changed, and many changes are needed.

The first team have done nothing to keep Ole in the job, in today’s game v Watford where United got beaten 4-1 Fernandez was seen at the end blaming the players we hope he included himself!

United play in Europe on Tuesday against Villarreal a game they would be best winning.

A spokesperson for Manchester United said:

“Ole leaves with our sincerest thanks for his tireless efforts as Manager and our very best wishes for the future. His place in the club’s history will always be secure, not just for his story as a player, but as a great man and a Manager who gave us many great moments. He will forever be welcome back at Old Trafford as part of the Manchester United family.

Michael Carrick will now take charge of the team for forthcoming games, while the club looks to appoint an interim manager to the end of the season.”
