In November last year, the government gave a £975,000 grant to improve the Sale West Estate and residents have a list of things they believe is needed.

Local candidate for St Mary’s Ward Rob Duncan told us that the majority of residents contacted wanted better street lighting and for road and footpath surfaces to be improved.

Damp in any house has to be taken seriously however we are aware some properties on the Sale West Estate still has problems, this is a public health matter and with or without any money given by the government should be sorted out with immediate effect.

Rob Duncan, local candidate for St Mary’s Ward has been working with residents confirming “It’s vital Trafford Council, Irwell Valley and Seddon Homes (who are contracted to upgrade the estate) work together to help improve the infrastructure ranging from the poorly lit roads, ginnels and alleyways through to better footpaths and roads.

“It’s can be very frustrating knowing there’s a central pot of money ready to invest to improve such problems, however getting these organisations and the council to hold their hands up as to who will pick up the job is another.

“By continued communications with Irwell Valley and Trafford Council, I’m sure we can start to resolve these problems.”

The local Tory candidate is working closely with Irwell Valley who ultimately wants the same outcome.

Other political parties may also be aware of such things and will also be working with residents to give them what they need working alongside Irwell Valley and Trafford Council.
