Police and paramedics attended Brooklands Metrolink Station in Sale this afternoon (9 Feb) after a young woman was seen near to the rail tracks.

Metrolink suspended services at around 1.30 pm and tweeted that people with tickets from Altrincham needed to go on the 263 service, police were seen by local people walking along the track as a woman was seen near a tree very close to the rail line.

Some people reported to us she had climbed a tree and could have fallen on to the line.

Police was seen trying to talk her down which it’s believed was successful and the woman will have been given treatment at a local hospital.

Metrolink was able to return to normal soon after.

We have asked GMP for more information and will update this article when more is known.
