Increase in anti social behaviour threatens a good year for a park in Sale

Reports of increased anti social behaviour and drug taking threatens what locals have said has been a very good year for Walton Park in Sale.

Drug taking in the park has increased recently with teenagers openly smoking cannabis and snorting nitrous oxide mostly at the back of the park with little in the way of a police presence it seems the park is becoming a ghetto again and residents are worried.

Lots of children are in the park and more families have used it all year, it has been very busy and more good things are coming such as the memorial for the Wellington Bomber coming up next Wednesday at an estimated time of 11am.

The annual ghost ride event will take place in October depending on the weather.

Walton Park is widely used by the community and 99% of those love the park and feel safe being in it, so it would be frustrating that only the mindless few could spoil things.

Only today we have read on social media that a guy on a dirt motorbike was seen in the park although no harm came to anyone, it is not a good image for the park.

The advice we have been given is to report any incidents to police, the more complaints they get will mean they will keep an eye on things, ring 101 remembering the time of incident and what was going on, if you can ring at the time (in a safe place) we are told this would be better.
