Partington could get another artificial football pitch

An application has been submitted for a new artificial football pitch in Partington right next to the existing one on the grounds of the sports centre.

The applicant is Broadoak High School.

We have seen the full plans for the pitch and it will be very much like the existing one with paths leading to it from the school and from the existing pitch, it will have 15 metre high flood lighting with 3 either side.

Whilst this new facility will be for the school according to the application it will also be for local football clubs and others who need to use the pitch.

Parking will be available at the school with spaces for 98 cars and over 50 at the sports centre, no provision for cycles or motorbikes.

The times of opening once constructed will be from 8am until 10pm on a daily basis.

Giving another pitch to Partington and other areas will be something people will really appreciate, it gives people the chance to not only keep fit it could also unearth some amazing talent that we know exists in the Partington area.

On the other hand some people will agree that another pitch is not needed since one already exists and has been recently upgraded and the money the school has spent could have gone to better use.
