Rocky and Predator star Carl Weathers has died aged 76

Carl Weathers who played Apollo Creed in Rocky films and Dillon in Predator has sadly passed away aged 76.

Weathers had a stellar movie and silver screen career, he also played for the Oakland Raiders American Football team in the 70’s as a linebacker he helped the team win the AFC West.

He will be best known for playing Apollo Creed in the Rocky franchise alongside Sylvester Stallone and his big part in the Predator film playing Dillon.

On the set of Predator he was interviewed and mentioned the amount of cigars Schwarzenegger smoked whilst filming and being a super fit athlete he found it horrible having to constantly smell his tobacco.

Weathers had a big part in Predator but was killed off half way through trying to find this giant alien who was far more advanced in both strength and weaponary, also using stealth was something no man could match, in the end Dillon was seen shooting the predator but found his arm was chopped in half with his hand falling with the machine gun in his hand still shooting such was the grip he had, Dillon’s time in the movie had come to an end.

He was a brilliant actor and will be sadly missed, his family issued a small statement saying “he died peacefully in his sleep.”
