Manchester’s vibrant food scene is about to get a taste of Down Under with the launch of an exciting new concept, Rolled, an Australian-style sushi to-go kiosk.

Set to debut at the Lower Orient in the Trafford Centre on August 16th, this innovative fast-casual experience plans to bring a fresh and convenient twist to the UK’s burgeoning love affair with sushi.

About the Concept: Hand rolls, which have achieved sandwich-like ubiquity in Aussie lunch culture, take centre stage on the menu, offering a delicious fusion of traditional Japanese techniques with Aussie quality and creativity.

The hand roll format was invented in Melbourne in the late 1990s, before becoming popularised
in the early 2000s, eventually becoming what Aussie’s consider the norm of sushi.

With Rolled,Founder Adam Miller and his team aim to introduce Manchester to this convenient hand-held format, drawing inspiration from popular recipes in Australia whilst introducing their own fresh
take on it, with rolls such as the Spicy Tuna, Crispy Chicken, Salmon Smashed Avo and The
Bondi Roll; Aussie breakfast in a roll.

Adam said: “Aussies are obsessed with this type of sushi. It’s not unusual to consume handroll multiple times a week, so I’m excited to introduce it to Manchester where I believe it will be just as popular.

“We have real ambition for Rolled, with the aim of establishing the brand as the UK’s largest and
most loved sushi chain. We’re excited to launch the concept in Manchester at the Trafford
Centre, with a view to expanding across the country, one hand roll at a time!”

Simon Layton, Centre Director at Trafford Centre, added: “We’re thrilled to be the first location
for this innovative concept, welcoming Rolled to our diverse food offering. This unique
Australian-style sushi concept is sure to be a hit with our visitors, providing a fresh, affordable
and healthy grab-and-go option.”
