Trafford MV Rugby Club open 2025 in the Men’s senior rugby with a home fixture for the 1st XV against their fellow promoted rivals New Brighton this Saturday at MacPherson Park (M33 6LR) with a 2.15pm kick off.
The teams battled out a 77 point thriller over at New Brighton at the end of September with the home side taking the points advantage with a 39-38 win, Trafford MV will be aiming to regain the momentum this weekend with the support of a good home crowd behind them.
Both Clubs have struggled to a degree in getting to grips with the demands and intensity of the fixtures in Counties 1 ADM Lancashire & Cheshire League of the Northern Division and both hold positions in the lower half of the table. Trafford hold 8th position going in to 2025 while New Brighton are 10th placed.
A real battle of a game will be on the cards and the backing of the home crowd could be a game swinger as the teams will be looking to come out of their festive slumber with plenty of fire power.
Local support on the touchlines to cheer the TMV lads on would be appreciated. There is no admission charge for the game and bar and hot food is available to purchase.
The team will be announced on Friday 3rd lunchtime so keep your eye’s on local social media for team news.
