ASEZ WAO Carries Out ‘Green Earth’ Project at Reddish Vale Country Park
International volunteer organisation ASEZ WAO carried out a community clean-up in the Metropolitan Borough of Stockport, Greater Manchester, on 28 June as part of its Green Earth project.
ASEZ WAO is the young adult workers’ volunteer group of the World Mission Society Church of God (General Pastor Kim Joo-cheol).

The Green Earth project helps protect terrestrial ecosystems by removing litter from streets, parks, urban areas and woodland while raising awareness of the importance of biodiversity.
The initiative is carried out not only in South Korea but also in countries including the United States, Spain, New Zealand and South Africa.
On this occasion, approximately 90 ASEZ WAO members and local residents cleaned a 5 km route around Reddish Vale Country Park, a much-loved green space where local people enjoy walking, wildlife and recreation.
Councillor Laura Smith and Councillor James Frizzell of Stockport Council attended the event to support the volunteers and joined in the clean-up until its completion. Stockport Council also provided litter-picking equipment and other supplies.
The Church of God’s young adult volunteers have carried out environmental activities across Greater Manchester, including Mersey Vale Nature Park, as well as in Greater London and Surrey.
Through the Green Earth campaign and the tree-planting Mother’s Forest project, they have helped make communities greener and healthier. They have also supported local people through activities such as assisting with farm work and visiting care homes.
In recognition of these voluntary efforts, ASEZ WAO has received honours including the Salford City Mayor’s Civic Award.
The organisation has also been appointed a Green World Ambassador by The Green Organisation and has received both the Green World Award and the Green Apple Award.
