This weekend Trafford MV Rugby Club have a training squad of 20 players travelling to Denbigh RFC (Wales) for the first pre-season action ahead of the 2026/27 season.
The game will kick off at 2.30pm and there will be plenty of optimism within the camp as several new faces make their debuts following a good recruiting process over the Summer months at Trafford MV.
Fresh competition has been much needed in Trafford MV’s training squad and with new faces there will be a look to a refreshed style of play to hopefully turn the fortunes of the Club around after a tough couple of season’s on the pitch.
There is a question mark hanging over the game with the RFU considering a delay to the start of the competitive rugby season due to drought like conditions across the country leading to the risk of injury from playing on rock hard pitches. We live in hope of rain, to some degree over the coming weeks.
On Saturday 22nd there will be a Home friendly against an Irish touring side Skibbereen RFC from County Cork in Eire. If you know any Irish folk that enjoy a bit of rugby please invite them to join us on the touchline and in the Clubhouse at Trafford MV Rugby Club M33 6LR to give some support to the visiting side.
