This coming weekend a festival of real ales, live music and tasty street food returns to Sale as the South Of The River Beer and Music Festival opens its doors to the local community.
Opening on Friday Sept 18th evening at 5pm there will be a range of 20 ales and ciders to whet your appetite, breweries from Lancaster, Macclesfield, Warrington and more locally Timperley and Dunham Massey will be represented alongside some fruity ciders. There will also be a gin, cocktails and fizz bar to add a little sparkle to proceedings.
There will also be a number of low and no alcohol options also available from the main clubhouse bar at Trafford MV Rugby and Cricket Club for drivers and non imbibers.
The event runs over two days, Friday evening will include music from guitarist/vocalists Geoff Fagan and Jon Boswell with indie band Defunked rounding off the evening with some banging dance tunes. For the sporty ones there will be a live Rugby Match played under floodlights with Trafford MV Vets facing Didsbury Toc H.
On Saturday from Noon it’s all about great fun and friendly atmosphere as the beers and ciders continue to flow and the beats go on – there will be five great musical acts with singers Francis Kelly and Olivia Beall getting the afternoon going, followed by the entertaining Stretford Uke , in the evening we will have local duo The Weltones followed by The Metrovicks band closing off the evening with some of Manchester’s best music.
Tickets for each day are £10 and if you purchase in advance (either from the Club Bar or from Eventbrite – search for South Of The River Beer Festival) your ticket will include 2 free drink tokens worth £4!
The event is always a great fun day within the local community and does attract many people from across the Trafford borough and further afield. We pride ourselves on supporting local breweries, local caterers and local entertainers as well as being an important hub for local young people to enjoy sport in a healthy and safe environment.
The event will also be raising funds for Prevent Breast Cancer through raffles and donations and there will be representatives from the charity attending to tell us a little more about their campaign.
