Police are appealing for information after a 22-year-old man was shot in the abdomen in a Moss Side park.
At around 9pm on Oct 5 police were alerted by NWAS (North West Ambulance Service) that a 22-year-old man had been shot at the park on Raby Street a short while earlier.
He was taken to hospital with abdominal injuries where he remains in a stable condition, his injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.
Superintendent David Pester of GMP’s City of Manchester team said: “We understand that an incident like this will cause concern among people in the area and I want to reassure the community that we have increased patrols in response.
“This happened in the evening close to a busy road and residential properties where people would have been around and seen something.
“I would urge anyone who was in the area at the time and has any information that can assist our investigation to contact police, you could hold a vital piece of information.”
