The Avro Vulcan XM603 has been refurbished and on show at Woodford Aerodrome in Stockport.

The aircraft has a new white livery with black nose and tail as can be seen above.

Vulcan bombers were designed for the cold war, for nuclear conflict and it was hoped to intercept missiles, although fortunately never used.

The Vulcan though did normal bombing missions, and was used in the Falkland War.

Of course as there are many types of Vulcan Bomber, the last of them was in the air for a final time over the UK having done many air shows in Oct 2015 where it retired at Woodford Aerodrome the place where it was made.

The Vulcan on show was made on 29 Nov 1963 and delivered to 9 squadron on Dec 4 that same year.

Some work is still going on at the aerodrome and your advised to follow instructions whilst on site.
