The subways at Stretford, that go under the A56 towards the mall are to be filled in, as today workmen have blocked access to the southern section.

Work got underway on the A56 to reshape and add more life to surrounding areas, so that Stretford would be a better place to come to and work in.

Sadly though some people are not happy about the plan, today we asked some people and all said it was a waste of money and time, and they could be putting lives at risk due to a new crossing being installed across all them lanes of traffic, and others thought it was a great idea, more so filling in the subways which are widely thought of as dangerous.

Works will intensify over the coming months and will not be completed until mid October, after the works were delayed slightly.
