The Trafford Liberal Democrats have announced their candidates for the upcoming General Election on June 8 and they are:
- Jane Brophy for Altrincham & Sale West
- Dr Anna Fryer for Stretford & Urmston
- William Jones for Wythenshawe & Sale East
The candidates will be campaigning hard on issues that matter to the people of Trafford and Wythenshawe;
Brexit and its effects on our local economy and in particular our Trafford Park industrial base, and the continued squeeze on living standards it will bring to the hard-working people of Trafford and Wythenshawe.
William Jones says ”This is the Brexit election, this is our chance to change Britain’s future and put a halt to Theresa May’s Hard Brexit agenda that will put people out of work and further squeeze living standards.”
Our National Health Service and the risks of further cuts to social care services that have placed an undue burden on our hospitals.
Dr Anna Fryer says ”Our Health and Social Care service is so important, and with an aging population we need new ways of working in order that everyone gets the care they require, this includes mental health which for so long has been the Cinderella of our health service and the effects of this under funding are striking as they knock on to other services that are struggling to cope.”
Our Environment and the lack of respect for our area, the threat of Fracking, the local Green Bin Tax and the Greater Manchester Spatial Framework threatening our Green Spaces.
Jane Brophy says ”I campaigned to scrap the Greater Manchester Spatial Framework, and I will continue to hold local politicians to account over this issue. Our green spaces are an important lifeline into our cities and urban areas and continued development will only aid in the deterioration of everyone’s health and well being.”
