Ex Corrie Actor Roy Barraclough Has Died Aged 81

Ex Coronation Street actor Roy Barraclough has died after a short illness, he was 81-years-old.

Roy also spent many years with Les Dawson, but it will be his role as Alec Gilroy in the soap Coronation Street that he will be best remembered.

He gained many awards for his efforts winning Manchester Evening News theatre awards and a royal television society award, in 2006 he was given an MBE for services to drama.
