Armed Robber target a Co-operative food store in Sale

An armed robbery took place at a Co-operative food store in Sale.

The robbery occurred at around 10pm on Aug 16 at the Brooklands store on Washaway Road, a male was seen hanging about outside the store for a while, he waited until the shop was empty and robbed the store at knife point.

The male we are reliably told was no more than twenty years old, he was fully masked and robbed the tills, he took nothing else and fled on foot

Staff at the store are said to have been shocked by the incident.

The store has been robbed many times with staff telling us a theft takes place on a daily basis, recently the store was hit by four men, who staff claim were not armed, the men robbed all the money which was over a thousand pounds, and all the cigarettes were taken.
