RBS bank in Sale Square Shopping Centre robbed

shortly before 1.50pm on Aug 30, police were called to Sale Square Shopping Centre to reports of an armed robbery.

Officers attended and established that a man had entered the RBS and passed a threatening note to a cashier demanding money.

The man then fled the scene along Springfield Road towards the canal with a quantity of cash in a dark rucksack.

As the man fled, a red dye pack placed with the cash was let off inside a nearby shop.

Security and cleaning staff tell me the man who was wearing dark clothing came in and out on a mountain bike and through Wilkos.

The search for the man is ongoing.
