Police were called at around 10pm to reports masked men from Timperley armed with baseball bats pursued a car on Welbury Road, Northern Moor on Aug 31
Two men one aged 23 and the other 21 were driving through Wythenshawe when a car pulled out behind them and switched on its full beam headlights.
The men were chased by this car before being boxed in on Welbury Road as a VW golf car pulled out in front of them.
A number of men got out of both cars armed with the baseball bats and approached the victims before smashing their car and assaulting them.
One of the men managed to run to a nearby house and called the police as the offenders fled with the victims bag and wallet.
On of the men suffered head injuries which has been treated in hospital.
At around 11pm, police located the offenders black VW golf on Norwood Drive in Timperley.
Officers then entered the address and arrested four people on suspicion of robbery, the four people are a man aged 21, a 17-year-old man, a 16-year-old and a 54-year-old woman.
Detective Inspector Gareth Davies of GMP’s City Of Manchester Team said: “This was a terrifying robbery that has targeted two men and left them in need of hospital care.
“I understand that the community will quite rightly be concerned by this attack and I would like to assure them that we have launched a full investigation and have four people in custody.
