Liz Dawn died peacefully at her home on September 25 with all her family around her, she played the character Vera Duckworth in Coronation Street for decades.
All her family and friends including everyone from ITV Coronation Street are said to be devastated by the news.
Vera Duckworth hit our screens in 1974 and played the wife of Jack Duckworth in 1979, she played the character for 34-years, she ended her time on the box in 2015, although made guest appearances on many shows.
In her time she won a ‘Lifetime achievement award’ at the 2008 british soap awards and also was made a MBE in the 2000 Queens birthday honours.
She died of emphysema which is a serious lung condition that is caused in part by smoking, but other factors can also play a part in this disease such as air pollution.
