An arsonist attacked Partington Social Club at 1.50am on Jan 9th and badly damaged the building.

Police was seen during the afternoon outside the club as they continued to investigate who was to blame for the attack.

No one was injured in the attack that police are now treating as arson.

A spokesperson from the club said: “As you all will be aware the club was subject to an arson attack last night that has completely gutted the smoking shelter, main bar and caused untold damage to the function room.

“We are not sure when we will be able to re open at this time.

“Thank you to everyone who has been in touch to show their support.”
