Elderly woman distracted and robbed in Stretford Mall

An elderly woman was approached by two offenders in Stretford Mall on February 14th, they asked the elderly woman for change, she gets her purse out and one of the offenders had used a distraction and the other offender managed to snatch two bank cards.

The victim only found out when she went to pay for some shopping, she then alerted a security guard, one of the offenders was then spotted and detained by the guard.

Police was called and a short time later, the detained offender was arrested for theft from a person and assault after spitting at the security guard.

It is believed that the other female offender will soon be arrested and taken into custody.
