The drama unfolded at around 5pm on Broad Road in Sale, we are told the bird was stuck in a tree and was squawking ‘mayday mayday’ for a time to which residents became its own ATC and helped save the bird.

We believe the bird was a red kite which has a wingspan of 195cm and hunts for other birds and rodents.

It is not known how this bird got stuck in a tree at this time, we can say though for sure it was in good health and is now in good hands with the RSPCA.

Thanks to Peter Escobar from Sale for the images.
