Trafford’s crime stats for the month of February released

Trafford is widely known to be the safest borough in Greater Manchester and this remains as the recorded crime stats are released for February 2018.

We have to be wary though of the real figures since what we have is only recorded statistics, some people or even the police themselves do not report some crimes.

We give a quick guide of how many crimes have occurred in all parts of the borough as seen including the Trafford Centre:

  • Altrincham town centre 77
  • Bowdon 32
  • West Timperley 54
  • Sale Town Centre 52
  • Broadheath 30
  • Partington 71
  • Carrington 11
  • Flixton 37
  • Urmston Town Centre 28
  • Stretford 54
  • Davyhulme Easr 25
  • Davyhulme West 41
  • Old Trafford 96
  • Sale Moor 43
  • Trafford Park 47
  • Trafford Centre 101

Trafford Centre saw the most crimes reported to police in February with Old Trafford close behind and Altrincham town centre in third, Partington is fourth.

Shoplifting increased at the Intu Trafford Centre rising from 10 reports in January to 22 in February, it is without doubt one place not to be leaving your cycle, the chances of it being robbed are very high no matter how good the security claims to be.

Altrincham has the best place to live award by the Times newspaper, fair statement it is much improved, however it still suffers with high crime rates in the town centre.

Partington crime rates are fairly consistent sometimes its a little higher and other months its lower than average, with more police support the area will see a bit of a difference, how long this police support will last for is another thing.

Old Trafford crime rates remain very high, with a strong community in the area and police support, including new infrastructure they are in good hands.

The government have reduced the numbers of police officers, what can we expect? obviously it will have a huge impact on crime rates, removing youth centres for the kids was a dreadful idea, they have nothing other than causing issues in town centres and at Metrolink stations and looking at the reality not even the Tories can blame Labour for those irresponsible decisions that ultimately have caused higher criminality in our borough.

Police are doing all they can, and doing it really well since they are so stretched, we can though also help these people by listening and reading advice about how to protect yourself from all types of crime.
