They walked for a charity called ‘Maggies’ which is a cancer charity based at Christies Hospital in Manchester.

The charity gives support to those who have been diagnosed with cancer or has cancer and professional help is on hand at all their centres in the UK.

All the firemen were greeted by many shoppers and businesses in Sale as they went through towards Sale Moor village, waving to them and giving money to what is a great charity.

With the day being dry it was a good one to do this walk, although a little on the humid side the guys will need plenty of water along the route, they will drop in on Altrincham and is expected to walk along Hale Road to the airport.

You can donate to the charity if you cannot make it to see the firefighters by texting MAFS90 and your amount so if you wanted to donate £2 or £5 that is what you add and send to 70070 you will be charged for sending the text which is normally 12p.
