A new Lidl supermarket will be built on Chester Road in Stretford following unanimous planning approval by planning officers at Trafford Borough Council.

Many residents in Stretford and all around Trafford will be delighted with this news.

Construction of the new supermarket at the old PC World store will start in the next three months with a view to opening the store next spring.

It will be a huge sustainable store with some 1.363m of sales space and will include a bakery, toilets and parking facilities for both cars and cycles.

Lidl say it will also create 40 new jobs for local people.

Nick Harvey Lidl UKs head of property commented: “We could not be more delighted to have received planning permission, and look forward to getting started on construction, I’d like to take this opportunity to thank the local community and their continued support, and very much look forward to opening our doors and offering our fresh quality, great value products in the not too distant future.”

Lidl’s portfolio takes it to an impressive 710 stores and we are fully sure Stretford and indeed Trafford residents will love this store once completed.
