On the website it says that with a heavy heart they have had to cancel Festival 41 this year, with the reasons for it being money and the lack of a proper sponsor.

The festival 41 was to be held at Abottsfield Park in Urmston next weekend.

The entire message on the website is below:

“It is with a very heavy heart that we have to cancel Festival 41 this year. It’s not something we have taken lightly and this really is a last resort. The infrastructure costs a lot of money and we need that to keep you safe and make it awesome!

We have spent the last year planning, hiring, creating and managing Festival 41, it’s cost a lot of money and at times impacted our mental health and interrupted our family time. But we thought it was worth it for our town, and we still do! We worked endlessly to try and keep the festival going but, it became too difficult to fund it single handedly, without sponsors etc.

We realise that this may cause you problems and we wholeheartedly apologise for this. We are utterly devastated by this decision, we have done all we can to prevent this from happening. Refunds will be available to all that bought a ticket, and we will be issuing them as soon as possible, so please don’t worry.

Thanks immensely to those that supported us and believed in us, those that bought a ticket, that wanted to join our venture to support our town.

This isn’t the end for us completely but for now, Festival41 2018 has had to come to an end.

We’re taking a break from social media for a little while, however if you have any urgent questions please contact us via info@festival41.co.uk

Please allow some time for refunds. We assure you this will be done asap.

Team Festival 41″

We suggest to Team Festival 41 to get all this sorted out well before announcing any event they are putting on, it is very dissapointing to say the least and may have damaged any reputation the the organisers had.
