Motorcyclist dies after a collision on Barton Dock Road in Stretford

Police are investigating after a motorcyclist died and a woman was injured in a collision on Barton Dock Road in Stretford.

At around 11.15am on Thursday 26 July 2018 police were called to Barton Dock Road at the junction with Caledonia Way in Stretford to reports that a silver Nissan Qashqai had collided with a man on a blue Triumph motorcycle.

Police and Ambulance attended and a man in his twenties, who was on the motorcycle was treated at the scene before being taken to hospital where he sadly died.

A woman in her thirties, who was in the Qashqai was also taken to hospital with minor injuries.

Sergeant Brian Orr from GMP’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit said: “This is an absolutely tragic collision that has taken one man’s life”

“As we continue our investigation into how this incident happened, my thoughts are with their loved ones, at what must be a devastating time.
