Bad collision kills a motorcyclist on Winchester Road in Stretford

Police are appealing for witnesses after a motorcyclist died in  a collision on Winchester Road in Stretford.

At 4.35pm on Wednesday 25 July police were called to a collision involving a Yamaha motorcycle and a white Vauxhall Insignia on Winchester Road, Stretford.

The motorcyclist, a man aged 30, was taken to hospital where he sadly died today, Thursday 26 July.

The driver of the Vauxhall Insignia remained at the scene and is assisting Police with their enquiries.

Sergeant Lee Westhead from GMP’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit said: “My thoughts are with the man’s family and loved ones, this really is so sad.

“Our investigations are still at an early stage and we are appealing to anyone who has information on the collision, witnessed the vehicles prior to the incident, or has dashcam footage that might be of use to us, to contact police.”
