Microsoft Windows 8 mobiles and below will not get anymore updates from next year

As part of the Windows Life Cycle programme the Microsoft store will no longer accept any Windows 8 or below and Windows 8 and 8.1 from October 2018, this will though not affect existing apps for Windows 8 and 8.1.

In July 2019 anyone with a Microsoft 8 or below and 8 or 8.1 will no longer get a software update.

And on July 1st 2023 Microsoft will stop updates to all apps with people with 8 and 8.1 devices.

It has been a while since Microsoft developed a handset with the latest being the Lumia 950 and 950 XL.

Nokia 8110 4G

At the time Microsoft had only a tiny fan base actually much smaller than Blackberry, and so far we have no news on any new phones from the Microsoft stable.

Microsoft bought Nokia and continued with the Lumia range, however customers started to get fed up as every phone produced looked very similar, the software was average at best and the cameras on all of them were average at best.

Nokia continue onwards with HMD making their phones, although the phones produced so far is barely acceptable, we think the 8110 4G phone will be a winner.
