Sale Brass Band are hosting a concert in memory of the ending of The Great War entitled “100 Years – For The Fallen”, on Saturday 10th November 2018 at The Robert Bolt Theatre, Sale Waterside. Tickets are £8 and available at the theatre box-office by phone: 0161 912 5616, Textbox: 0161 912 2102 (Option 4) EXT 5899, or online: www.watersidearts.org
The concert will include music and stories of the time with performances by Sale Brass Band, The Meadway Youth Choir and The Alderley District Scout Band. Sale Brass hosted a sell-out concert in 2014 to commemorate the centenary of start of the war and raised over £1,000 for various charities.
The band is experiencing an exciting period having, for the first time, qualified to represent the North West area (Section 4) at the British Brass Band Finals in Cheltenham this Saturday.
They have also just recently moved their rehearsal venue to the Claremont Centre in Sale, which is run by Trafford Music Services. This move will open up possibilities of working with the Music Service on joint ventures with the aim of encouraging more students in Trafford to take up a brass instrument. The excellent new facility are ideal but, due to the band accumulation of equipment, storage space is at a premium so if anyone has free suitable storage space available in Sale the band would be very interested in hearing from them.
