Man in his 70’s has a stroke after a crash in Davyhulme

Police are appealing for information following a collision that has left a man in his 70’s in a life-threatening condition in Trafford.

A blue Toyota Aygo collided with a red Ford Transit close to the junction of Davyhulme Road and Pleasant Drive, Davyhulme shortly after 4pm on Novermber 24.

The Ford Transit driver sustained no injuries.

While being treated in an ambulance, the Toyota driver, a man in his 70s, suffered a stroke and was taken to hospital, where he remains in a life-threatening condition.

Phil Shaw of GMP’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit said: “This is a terribly sad incident and our thoughts remain with the man and his family at this very difficult time.

“We’re appealing to anyone who witnessed the collision, saw the vehicles prior to the incident, or has dashcam footage, to get in touch.”
