Manchester United have today confirmed that Ole Gunnar Solskjær will manage the team until the end of the season after Jose Mourinho was sacked yesterday.
Solskjaer is still contracted to manage FC Molde and will return back to his club once the season ends in May.
The 45-year-old Norwegian made 126 goals in 366 appearances for United between 1996 and 2007.
Once the season has ended the club will then appoint a manager and for the first time in its history a director of football will be appointed.
Solskjaer will also have former red Mike Phelan by his side along with Michael Carrick and Kieran McKenna.
Solskjaer said: “Manchester United is in my heart and it’s brilliant to be coming back in this role. I’m really looking forward to working with the very talented squad we have, the staff and everyone at the club,”
