Actress June Whitfield has died aged 93

Actress June Whitfield who was born in Streatham in London has passed away aged 93.

June made several films and starred on the small screen many times during her succesful acting career that started in 1944, she will be remembered for her parts in the Carry On films, and her series with the late Terry Scott.

In recent times the actress got parts in Coronation Street and Mrs Marple, she also got a part on Eastenders.

June was awarded a ‘Lifetime achievement award’ by the British Comedy Awards in 1994, She was honoured by the Queen in 1998 when she was given a CBE and  was given another honour in 2017  which was a DBE (disambiguation)

June had spent a decade in a gigantic house after her husband died, she decided to relocate and spend the rest of her days in a care home, June died today Dec 29th peacefully in her sleep
