A Trafford Tory councillor and leader of his local party has found himself on the new years honours list.
Sean Anstee who used to be the leader of the council gets a CBE for services to local government.
This is a great honour from the Queen, and one Mr Anstee will be very proud to own.
Now living in posh surroundings, working hard for the people of his Bowdon ward, things look brighter for this man.
Sean also runs marathons in Trafford where money is raised for charity, he is from Partington as is his brother Stephen who is also a councillor in the Broadheath ward, although he is stepping down in May for personal reasons.
We are delighted for Sean and hope this new honour from the Queen helps him achieve even bigger things in 2019.
will Trafford be as pleased? when Anstee was in charge of the council he cut many things, and attacked the most vulnerable in society, Sure Start children’s centres were cut, libraries cut, youth centres cut, it has been said had Trafford continued keeping the Tories in power we would have had next to no green belt land.
The biggest mistake Anstee and his party made was giving a private company which had a murky history a very long contract to look after our front line services, One Trafford though since the new Labour administration took control of the council have become a better service although still has some issues.
For many residents it has come as a bit of a shock as to why Sean has got this honour from the Queen as he is no longer in charge of the council.
