Trafford Leisure hosted its first Ladies Evening at Altrincham Golf Club on Friday offering local women the chance to try a new activity for free.

The special event, attended by 60 local women, included a social evening at the driving range and a bespoke, outside yoga class in the South Trafford Archaeological Group’s secret walled garden, based within the grounds of Altrincham Golf Course.

The team at Altrincham Golf Course made every effort to make the driving range feel special and welcoming, decorating the venue with a beautiful flower wall. Guests were also treated to Prosecco and cupcakes.

The ladies practised their golfing skills at the driving range, which now boasts 10 Toptracer bays, which use advanced technology to track and analyse shots, to help improve technique.

One participant said: “I’ve had such a fun night. My husband plays a lot of golf, but I’ve never tried it before. I wasn’t sure golf was for me. I’m so pleased I came along; I wasn’t expecting to enjoy it as much as I did. The driving range is a great place to bring friends, it’s super sociable and I was surprised how much I improved over the evening. I’ll definitely come again.”

The yoga class was taught by Altrincham Leisure’s, yoga specialist, Natalie Galobart, and the session was complimented with reiki healing for the women. Natalie said: “The weather smiled on us. It was such a special night, the setting was beautiful and intimate, and the evening sun bathed our bodies. I was so pleased to run this class and was excited that so many women that hadn’t tried yoga before came along. Practicing yoga outside is such a treat for all the senses.

Jo Cherrett, COO of Trafford Leisure says: “I’m thrilled with the positive feedback from this special Ladies Night event. Exercise with friends is always more fun, and I’m really proud that our guests were up for a challenge. Physical activity comes in many guises, and yoga and golf in the sun was the perfect evening. Both activities are extremely accessible and inclusive, and good for everyone whatever your age or skillset.
