New captain Pat Eccles has been busy rallying the current squad, he has also put the invitation out there to new players looking to justify their ambitions with a tilt at 1st XV rugby with a well established club with excellent facilities playing in the ADM Lancashire Premier League.

MV are set to confirm pre-season fixtures with Eccles and Leigh initially. The club are also looking to strengthen the depth of their coaching team which we are told will be announced shortly.

The clubohave also bolstered their off field team with the appointment of Alex Wood as Rugby Chairman. Alex is looking to promote MV’s policy of a ”One Club” approach with all 3 senior sides and the min/junior section working hard to gether to share coaching skills and working and supporting one another.

MV is keen to see and hear from any local rugby players who are looking to progress their playing career whether it is as a keen ambitious 1st XV player or as an occasional social player on the 3rd XV.

Players of all levels are invited to contact Greg Hawkins on 07834 857905 to express an interest or just show your face at the club for training on Tues/Thurs evenings at 6.30pm.

The Club will be hosting a Charity Fun Day on Sat July 27th in aid of McMillan Cancer Support – the highlight of which will be a fancy dress rugby match with Men in Frocks playing, this must not be missed! and all done for a very important charity.
