Manchester United have put up notices on a road so fans can no longer get autographs and photos of the players near Broadheath.
The road is used by the players normally after training at Carrington and leads onto Sinderland Lane one of the most dangerous roads in the borough.
We have seen fans go crazy when they see the players and often the United players would stop and make some fans very happy.
One fan we spoke with came all the way from Ireland to see David De Gea, to get his son’s Manchester United goalkeeper top signed by the man himself, he got the autograph but was soon ushered away by Manchester United security.
It might seem like a bad thing to do to fans, however United are not only looking out for themselves but also caring for the fans who could end up in a bad accident.
Only today we saw many drivers speeding way to fast, often using Sinderland Lane like a formula one circuit, a car is in the field ‘probably’ because the driver lost control on a bend, the same car has been in that field very close to Birch Road for weeks!
We think Manchester United are doing the right thing and the players should not stop if they see fans although if anyone still comes down to smile when a camera comes out!
