Police appeal for witnesses after a car collided with a pedestrian on the M56 motorway

Police are appealing for witnesses after a fatal collision involving a car and a pedestrian on the M56 motorway.


At 1.10am on Friday 20 September 2019, police were called to reports of a collision involving a black Jaguar XF saloon and a pedestrian near to junction 2 of the eastbound carriageway at Sharston Link.

A 21 year-old-man sustained multiple injuries and sadly died a short time later in hospital.

PC Neil Pennington, from GMP’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “We are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the man walking between the slip road and the first lane of the carriageway, or anyone with dash-cam footage, to please get in touch.

“Sadly this collision has resulted in a young man losing his life and our thoughts are with his family at this terrible time.”
