Earthquake measuring 4.2 shakes the North East and Eastern Scotland

Earthquake that measured 4.2 on the richter scale in the North Sea shakes the North East of England today (September 24)

The earthquake epicentre was in the middle of the North Sea and was shallow at 10KM.

People in the Newcastle, Edinburgh, Aberdeen and Dundee areas reported feeling the quake at around 1.30pm this afternoon.

No damage was reported although many did report that they felt a wave going through homes and places of work.
