A team of four employees at Ashlands Manor Care Centre on Ashlands in Sale has ‘braved the shave’ to raise more than £600 for cancer charity Macmillan.
Aimee Rossbottom, Chris Hodkinson, Adam Hurst and Louise Wild wanted to give something back to the charity that has supported their loved ones while undergoing treatment for various cancer diagnoses.
The caring team at Ashlands Manor made a day of the charity event, starting with afternoon tea for the family and friends who had come along to witness the shave and offer moral support.
Activites assistant Louise Wild commented: “The support that my friends have received from Macmillan has been exceptional, and I was delighted to take part in this challenge to raise funds for such a worthy cause.”
Home manager at Ashlands Manor, Janet Lewis, added:
“Staff and residents have been delighted to raise funds for this important cause so close to our hearts that has offered so much love, care and support to those we know living with cancer. Everyone is so proud of Aimee, Chris, Adam and Louise for their bravery here at Ashlands Manor.”
A superb effort by all involved, the £600 that has been raised will go directly to Macmillan to help more people living with cancer across Greater Manchester and the rest of the UK.
