Police respond after an attempted robbery of an ATM outside a Tesco store in Sale

Police were called shortly before 12.40pm on Thursday 6 February 2020 to reports of an attempted burglary at an ATM outside Tesco on Manor Avenue in Sale.

A side door had been badly damaged and both ATM’s was still not working yesterday 17 February 2020, this has had a knock on effect for the cash machine at the Co-operative food store just around the corner on Coppice Avenue which we have been told had run out of money, although this could have changed since.

It is not known when the ATM’s at Tesco will be working again and when the damage to the side door will be fixed.

From what we have seen the robbers did not get any money on this occasion and no arrests have been made.

If you have any information you are asked to call police on 101.
