Women’s rugby at Trafford MV grows from strength to strength

Trafford MV is a thriving, family friendly, inclusive Rugby Club based in Sale and following the launch of a women’s rugby section earlier in the year they are now seeking to grow and develop a youth section for young girls in the local community.

Despite competitive rugby being still under Covid restrictions the club have enjoyed impressive attendances and well organised training session over the last few weeks for the senior players and have this week launched rugby based fitness bootcamps for 10-17 year old girls.

Sessions will be free initially as get our numbers together. Fun sessions will be on the agenda to make fitness fun for all ages and abilities. All sessions will be run within Covid-19 guidelines.

Trafford MV are keen to recruit girls from all types of sporting backgrounds that may never have picked up a rugby ball before as we believe there is an enormous pool of talent waiting to be found.

MV’s Women’s team were unfortunate to only get 3 games under their belts prior to the lock downs kicking in but interest has been maintained and the girls are desperate to get more game time under their belts.

If any women or girls are interested in joining our group of enthusiastic players, whether to play rugby or just get fit and be part of a group then please find us on Social media via Trafford MV Womens Rugby or message wilfdooley@virginmedia.com and your interest will be directed to the appropriate contact.

The club are looking to see a lot of people interested, so don’t think you will be on your own – women’s rugby now has a very high profile with the Red Roses England team, professional women’s rugby arriving at Sale Sharks and the sport being introduced at rugby clubs and schools across the country.

Get on board now with Trafford MV Women – don’t get left behind
